Ideal Kitchen Countertops for Food Enthusiasts

For some of us, there is no greater feeling then cooking up a storm in the kitchen. Whether it is your favourite meal, something entirely new, cooking can be a real treat.

However, if you are planning on cooking some delicious for dinner, then you are going to need to make sure that you have the right tools.

When you think of tools, then you may think of knives, chopping boards and all the fancy gadgets that can make cooking easier, but, truth be told, sometimes, kitchen tools are as basic as the counter and worktops that you choose.

So, with this in mind, we have decided to take a look at the ideal kitchen countertops that every cooking enthusiast should have in their kitchen.

Quartz Worktops

Quartz worktops have to be amongst the most elegant and stylish of all the worktops. These worktops look a lot like stone worktops, however, whilst stone worktops need a fair amount of care and some gentle handling, the same cannot be said about quartz.

Quartz worktops are incredibly hard-wearing, even from the usual kitchen problems of knife marks and abrasive pads. They are also resistant to heat and stains too, which makes them a dream to work with.

Best of all, quartz worktops are easy to clean and maintain, which means that your kitchen will always look its best. No matter how much happens in there.

Granite Worktops

One of the best things that we love about granite worktops is that every single one is unique, which means that your kitchen will have an entirely one of a kind feel.

Not only this, but granite is also durable, it is heat-resistant (which seems to be all important in kitchens) and it is also going to be able to stand up against knives and utensils.

One thing that is important to remember about granite worktops is that they are made from a porous material and so you need to ensure that you treat and reseal them to ensure that they don’t become stained.

Composite Worktops

As they are manufactured rather than made from natural materials, composite worktops are able to bring together the benefits of a variety of materials in one worktop. They are designed and made to be incredibly hard and strong and they are also really easy to clean, in fact all you need is to wipe them down with soap and water and they will look as good as new.

Another great aspect of composite worktops is that they are man-made, so whilst you may not have the unique feel of granite, you can be sure that your worktops will all look the same, which is ideal for someone who prefers a much more co-ordinated and streamlined look to their kitchen.

Marble Worktops

Marble is another glamorous worktop material to have and whilst it looks beautiful, there are other things that marble can bring to the table, or should we say, worktop.

Marble is nearly always cool to the touch, which means, if you are trying to keep your ingredients cool (such as when you are working with pastry) then this will be much easier to do.

Limestone Worktops

Finally, we have limestone worktops. Limestone has become more and more popular of late and the main reason for this seems to be that it looks a lot like marble, however, doesn’t cost nearly as much. Limestone worktops are incredibly durable and strong, which means that you don’t have to worry about damaging your worktops during a vigorous cooking session. Always a good thing to know!

So, there you have it, a variety of choices of kitchen worktop and the reasons why it might just be the ultimate cooking tool for you to have at your disposal.
