Stone is a natural material and as such comes with natural variations in colour and markings. Because of this, our samples must not be considered as anything other than being broadly representative of the material of the same name. This is an important consideration to bear in mind when making your decision on which stone to choose. At Carrara Marble, we offer our clients the choice of selecting their own slabs or choosing us to do this on their behalf. This way, our clients receive exactly what they wish and fulfill all their necessary requirements.

All Carrara Marble’s stone products are treated with "Lithofin" sealant before dispatch. The sealant, which is silicone based, impregnates the surface of the material and thereby protects it from liquids and prevents it from staining.

This is especially important with honed (matt), flame textured or bush hammered surfaces which are less durable, as the stone is not protected by a polished surface and is therefore more susceptible to staining and particularly to the absorption of oils, water and alcohol.

Granite, marble and limestone surfaces need to be properly maintained. They should be cleaned, resealed and waxed on a regular basis, depending on the type of stone. We recommend using "Lithofin" or a similar range of product for stone impregnation and maintenance.
