Carrara Marble is a stone manufacturer located in Park Royal, London. The company turns over sixty kitchen worktops monthly, using various materials ranging from granite and marble, limestone and sandstone to basalt and andesite.

Granite:

Granite is a widely used kitchen worktop material due to its longevity and resistance and at Carrara Marble we have a wide selection of granite to suit our diverse customer tastes and requirements. Almost all types of granite that we offer at Carrara Marble are suitable for kitchen worktops. Granite worktops are available in the following finishes: polished, honed and flamed/brushed, all of which can be used for kitchen worktops. All granite kitchen worktops leaving our workshop are fully sealed and protected against various types of liquid and oil stains.

Marble:

Marble can also be used for kitchen worktop finishes. However, it must be bared in mind that it is less durable and easier to scratch and so can require greater maintenance. The specific colours and various natural patterns found in marble can look exquisite as a kitchen worktop. Marble worktops are available in the following finishes: polished (not recommended), honed and antique finish. All marble kitchen worktops leaving our workshop are fully sealed and protected against various types of liquid and oil stains.

Limestone:

Some limestones are acceptable for use as kitchen worktops, although it must be bared in mind that it is less durable, easier to scratch and absorbent of oil and water and could require greater maintenance as a result. Limestone is a more uniform material and is growing in popularity as a kitchen worktop. All limestone kitchen worktops leaving our workshop are fully sealed and protected against various types of liquid and oil stains.

Sandstone:

Sandstone is also available as a kitchen worktop material, although there is only a limited choice with regards to which are suitable. When using sandstone for a kitchen worktop, the thickness of the material needs to be greater than a granite worktop in order to provide the same strength. This thickness allows for a wider range of finishes to the edge including a broken edge, which is becoming more and more popular especially for contemporary kitchen finishes. All sandstone kitchen worktops leaving our workshop are fully sealed and protected against various types of liquid and oil stains.

Basalt and Volcanic Rocks:

The above materials are suitable for kitchen worktops and are available in either filled or honed finishes. All basalt and volcanic kitchen worktops leaving our workshop are fully sealed and protected against various types of liquid and oil stains.

Andesite:

The above materials are suitable for kitchen worktops and are available in either filled or honed finishes. All basalt and volcanic kitchen worktops leaving our workshop are fully sealed and protected against various types of liquid and oil stains.

Man Made Materials:

Quartz based materials are also suitable for kitchen worktops and the main advantage of this material is its very uniform appearance, which achieves a clean, crisp finish. Man made materials are quickly beginning to grow in popularity especially in contemporary kitchen finishes.
